Beyond the Ocean's Edge

Winter Time In Spokane

The other day the comic section of our local paper featured one in which the kid complained about Christmas taking "forever" to get here.  The mom remarked that the it all seemed to happen so quickly she barely had time to blink.  As I grow older I find that to be true.  Here we are, just a few days away from celebrating the Birth of our Savior, and yet I'm so far behind in all that we are expected to do.  I haven't done any shopping, not even for cards for immediate family.  Nor have we as a family sent cards to anyone.  For the past few days I've agonized over what I see as a lack of time and my own procrastination.  Today I've decided that I'm not going to let it bother me, that I'm not going to jump through hoops just to be seen in the Spirit of the Season.

I do wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Here are a few photos of winter and Christmas at our place.
Our Christmas Tree, taken a couple of weeks ago.  In one of those odd happenings, it appears that there is a large black bearded face right below the Santa figure in the bottom center of the photo.  In actuality, Santa is sitting in a little ceramic car.
Snowed yesterday!  This was taken earlier this morning, looking from the front porch, right about at the time winter officially began here.
Having completed the morning's shoveling exercise, a view of the house, lightly bedecked in snow.
