My Books' Increased Availability

As I began the process of bringing Sailing Dangerous Waters: Another Stone Island Sea Story to a published state, I decided to expand the availability of both it and Beyond the Ocean's Edge.  Working through Outskirts Press, I signed both books up to be available on the Espresso Book Machine system.  With these units, one simply selects what book is wanted, inserts payment and waits for a few moments.  The machine prints, binds, trims, and presents the buyer with a freshly printed copy of the book.  In quality and appearance, the resulting volume is supposed to be indistinguishable from those printed in more traditional locations.

The Espresso Book Machines are located in many locations, both within the US and around the world.  I checked the web-site a while ago, and yes, Beyond the Ocean's Edge: A Stone Island Sea Story is available.  As soon as Sailing Dangerous Waters is published, it should be available as well.

If one is looking for a book not readily available in brick and mortar stores, and one isn't willing to pay the cost or wait for the time involved in shipping when ordering on-line, perhaps a copy bought and printed almost instantaneously via one of these units will provide the solution.  If there is a down side, it is that one pays the full cover price, rather than being given various discounts one normally finds at the on-line shopping venues.

I'd be interesting in hearing about anyone's experiences with this system, whether or not you've used it to purchase a copy of my book(s) or not.

trying something

Hey, when I posted a while ago about my books being on the Espresso Book Machine, I tried to get it to repost to Twitter and Facebook.  Doesn't look like it happened, not directly anyway.  (I'd tried to do this with Facebook some time ago, but could never get it to take.  Not that hard to go there and share the link to a LJ post, but....)  So, I'm trying it again, just to see if I've got it set up correctly.
